It all started with a goat.
If you had told me in 2017 that I would soon own a herd of dairy goats and spend my spare time making soap and lotion with milk from said herd, I would’ve laughed and told you how crazy you were. It all started with what I assumed was just another trip to our friend’s at Last Resort Ranch. I scoffed and called our friends crazy for milking their goats 2x day, replacing their cow milk with fresh milk from their girls, and falling into the rabbit hole of pedigree searches and show ring aspirations. My how things have changed since then. The next thing I knew, I was organizing transport for our first goat, Parrish Farms API Dream Girl 1*M. Not long after beginning our Nigerian herd, I also discovered my love for the earless wonders, formally known as Lamanchas. As they say, the rest was history.
The more I learned about these amazing dairy goat breeds, the more involved I wanted to be and the more goals I set fourth to accomplish with them. It wasn’t long before Budderball Farms was officially born! I truly enjoy every aspect of raising these animals from showing, to DHI, Linear Appraisals, and just sitting around watching them be goats. In fact, I’m not really sure how I lived the first 27 years of my life without them. Everyday I learn something new about them and love them a little more.
Budderball Farms is located in Hillsboro, TN about halfway between Nashville and Chattanooga. Our goals are the same for both our Lamancha and Nigerian herds. We want to produce quality animals who maintain long, healthy, and productive lives that may excel both in the show ring and the milk pail. To assist us in achieving these goals, Budderball Farms is an ADGA Plus Herd and participates in all of ADGA’s performance programs.
